Al Hudaydah, Yemen – Houthi Leader Abu Jibril expressed shock and surprise when news hit that a ship in the Red Sea was hit by one of his anti-ship ballistic missiles. “I mean, the drones, sure. We can walk those right up to a ship and push the ‘boom’ button. These ballistic missiles? Get out of here. We just put those in the air and hope they come down somewhere near the target. I mean, this is basically World War II level technology we’re talking about.”

Leonard Kendrick, Senior Editor for the Middle East at Jane’s Defense Weekly reacted with similar surprise. “I mean, I’m starting to wonder if the Pilot of the ‘Gibraltar Eagle’ actually steered the ship to get under the missile… It just boggles the mind.”
