New York – A backlash has hit New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the wake of reports that his administration’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak lead directly to thousands of preventable deaths. These included residents of nursing homes that were forced to take in positive coronavirus patients in spite of the risk to non-infected residents. Many in New York hadn’t seen this sort of gross government Negligence since the “Contamination Hazard Urban Disposal” program of the early to mid-1980s.

“You really have to look almost forty years in the past to find a program so mismanaged and poorly conceived” said Grover Klein, a spokesman for “up with homelessness,” an advocacy group for marginalized persons. “Not since Mario Cuomo allowed the Nuclear Regulatory Committee to store radioactive waste in our sewers has the government shown such ineptitude.” The incident, which lead to the documentary film “C.H.U.D.” in 1984 resulted in the deaths of over a dozen people including many women and those in communities of color.

When asked for a response to the comparison, Governor Cuomo said;  “My dad was always very clear on this point. Those CHUDs were “Cannibalistic Humanoid underground dwellers.” This whole toxic waste thing is just a conspiracy theory perpetrated by my rivals. Or else it was a result of Federal Policy under the Trump administration. I’ll get back to you on that.”
